Hopeful future

It has been the worst eight years in American history, George W. Bush and his gang have single handedly caused the death of tens of thousands by going into a disastrous as well as illegal war. Young soldiers have paid the price with their lives and others have been crippled to go on toward a bleak future. The casualties amongst Iraqi civilians are overwhelming.
The politics, some inherited from the Reagan era have wrecked the economy with deregulation and allowed "big business" to steal without control. This has lead to the collapse of the economy and affected the entire world.
Now hope is being restored, the new president elect have made promises making sense and the country is placing a lot of confidence in Barrack Obama.
He is facing the greatest challenge of his life trying to restore sanity in the economy, making plans to provide health care to all, not only the wealthiest citizens. The goals include efforts to develop more efficient energy, at the same time protecting the environment and providing employment to the victims of the greatest unemployment situation in decades.
He also intend to fortify the relations with the allies and use diplomacy (a word absent in the bush administration vocabulary) with countries that regard the United States as a bitter enemy.
In spite of the extremists who are already trying to tarnish his image, Obama has the support of the majority and showed wisdom when he chose Joe Biden as a vice president, a politician honest.  Et oui, il en existe quelques uns !

The president elect will, without a doubt, make it his goal to tame the devil of racism that has reigned for so long.
It will take a long time until this country returns to the place it once held in the world. When it was respected for its leadership and envied for its lifestyle and, if anyone can do it, the new president seems to fit the profile.
He is already acclaimed by a multitude around the world and has the most efficient organization, getting the electorate to participate.
The future is not ours to see but, after what we have suffered under the Bush mafia, it is unlikely that it could get any worse.
